What is Condom?
A condom is a thin, fitted tube that is worn over the penis during sex (male condoms) or inserted into the vagina before sex (female condoms). It can help prevent pregnancies and STDs by creating a barrier that keeps semen and other body fluids out of the vagina, rectum, or mouth. It is also sometimes called rubber or the barrier method. Condoms are quite effective at protecting against HIV.
Condoms are majorly made of latex. They are also made of plastic: polyurethane or polyisoprene. Condoms are also made of natural or lambskin that come from lamb intestines. They prevent pregnancy but don’t protect you from STDs.
Types of Condoms
There are different kinds of condoms – Lubricated, Spermicide coated, and Textured.
Using good-quality lube prevents pain and irritation during sex and helps keep the condom from breaking. It is advisable to use a water-based product since oil-based lubricants like petroleum jelly can damage the condom.
Spermicide is a chemical, called nonoxynol-9, that kills sperm. This lowers the risk of pregnancy, it can, however, irritate your genitals, which could make you more likely to get HIV.
Textured condoms are ribbed and studded types that augment and enhances the intimate sexual encounter between you and your partner.

Oral contraceptives are a type of birth control that contains hormonal preparations and are used to prevent pregnancy. They are manufactured with combinations of hormones estrogen and progestin which prevent pregnancy by stopping the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland in the brain.
Condoms are also considered a type of birth control that assists in preventing pregnancy and the spread of STDs.
There are two types of condoms, the male condom, and the female condom. The male condom, or "rubber," is a thin covering made of latex, plastic, or animal membrane that is rolled over an erect penis. The covering prevents semen, the fluid that contains sperm, from entering a woman's vagina.
The female condom is a lubricated polyurethane (plastic) tube that has a flexible ring at each end. One end of the tube is closed. Before the sexual activity, a woman inserts the condom into the vagina so the closed end of the tube covers the cervix, and the other end slightly covers the labia. The condom blocks sperm from entering the womb.

How to Use Condoms?
Hold the teat of the condom between thumb and forefinger and expel any air trapped; this facilitates room to hold the semen.
Just before starting sex, unroll the condom from the tip to the base of the penis and never before putting it on.
Condom Hygiene Tips
It is advised to use silicone-based or water-based lubricant without condoms and not oil-based. Apply it over the outside of the condom and re-apply if necessary during the act. DO not re-use a condom as it would defeat the purpose of its usage!
